Rapid Prototypes

Rapid prototypes

Prototyping using Precision Micro's manufactuting technology is a very rapid process, measured in hours rather than the weeks and months it might take using conventional metalworking methods

The use of digital tooling enables prototype designs to be realised quickly and at little cost whereas to produce hard tooling for press work would be far more time consuming and expensive. In may instances, Precision Micro can produce prototypes in less time than it would take to design hard tooling.

Prototypes frequently need to be modified before volume production is undertaken. Modifying and optimising digital tooling is a low cost process whereas modifying press tooling can be prohibitively expensive.

It is also reassuring to know that a prototype manufactured by Precision Micro will be made using the same manufacturing technology as subsequent volume production. Precision Micro prototypes are therefore initial production samples rather than mock-ups made using non-production techniques.
