Our role goes beyond innovative component manufacture
Precision Micro places great importance not just on what we do, but how we do it, and is firmly committed to honesty, integrity and respect for others in all of our business relationships, including those with customers, suppliers and amongst our employees.
Customers and suppliers
As one of the world’s leading photo etching suppliers, exporting to over 30 countries worldwide, it is essential we maintain full legal compliance with the export and import regulations of every country we do business. Precision Micro is believed to be the only photo etching company to operate a comprehensive trade compliance programme.
Precision Micro only works with suppliers who have pre-registered their chemicals under Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation & Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) regulation.
Employees attend regular training sessions which cover anti-corruption, health and safety, trade compliance and cyber-crime, and are kept informed of progress against the company’s strategic plan through regular presentations, ‘town hall’ business briefs, appraisals and in face-to-face meetings.
An employee lead ‘community board’ ensures an open and fair culture where everyone’s views and contributions are respected. Any concerns that employees do not feel comfortable talking about can be shared via a company ethics helpline.
A daily layered accountability process (DLA) empowers and rewards employees who act upon or escalate safety concerns, delivery of poor internal quality and recommend process improvements.
Health and safety
Using awareness campaigns and training programmes we have developed a culture that encourages employees to raise concerns about safety in the workplace – the outcome of which has been a 50% reduction in accidents, year-on-year since 2013
Environment and community
Precision Micro is continually developing its processes to reduce our environmental impact.
Some initiatives include:
- 25% of water used is recycled back through our photo etching process
- Etchant chemistry is regenerated and reused to minimise waste
- A machine upgrade and replacement programme which includes energy monitors to optimise supply
- A comprehensive crisis management process which deals with potential disruptive and unexpected events which could threaten our company, its stakeholders and the general public
- A 100% carbon neutral initiative by 2022
- 100% reuse or recycling of all waste to landfill by 2022
