Pre-contoured from medical grade titanium, cranio maxillofacial implants must be malleable enough to contour whilst remaining strong. These attributes can be compromised by traditional machining technologies which introduce stresses and burrs.
Photo chemical etching causes no work-hardening or thermal distortion and produces flat, uniform meshes without bends and kinks. This makes it the only suitable process for titanium implant mesh manufacture.
Europe’s largest, fastest and most reliable titanium etching service
As Europe’s largest, fastest and most reliable titanium etching supplier, medical OEMs benefit from local engineering support and reduce the cost of sourcing outside Europe. Lead times are measured in days, not weeks or months.
Unlimited complexity
As photo etching machines component features simultaneously, complex mesh designs cost no more to produce than simple ones and countersinks can be included at no additional cost.
Prototype to volume – fast
Using digital tooling, we prototype mesh designs quickly, adapt them at little cost and have them production-ready in a matter of hours.
Accuracy
Photo etching is an extremely clean and precise process. Tightly controlled chemistry selectively removes metal, atom-by-atom, to tolerances the quarter of a diameter of a human hair.
Materials and finishing
Precision Micro etch all grades of titanium – including ASTM F67 – to 1mm thick. Meshes can be anodised to colour-code their thickness and strength.
ISO 13485-accredited
Precision Micro is one of a small number of photo etching companies to hold ISO 13485, and the only accredited European etching supplier to the medical device sector.
