Bucking the Trend
Published in 2008
Precision Micro, Europe’s leading precision metal component manufacturer, and its customers are now reaping the benefits of the Company’s business strategy, despite the economic difficulties that continue to hamper the engineering industry.
The Company’s relocation into what is thought to be the only purpose-built photo-etching facility in Europe, during the latter part of 2007 has proven to be an excellent move in retrospect. The new 44,000 sq ft. manufacturing plant is focussed on providing a better, more efficient and more cost effective service for customers, factors that have been critical in gaining new business.
That said, possibly the key to the Company’s on-going success is the long-term partnerships it has forged with customers, through a combination of technical leadership, perpetual innovation, and the presence in the field of country specific representatives and agents who all have a high degree of technical expertise.
”Upgrading our manufacturing processes and efficiencies when moving into the new facility, provided a strong sales message for current and potential European customers, in terms of efficiency, capability and overall value,” said Anthony Marrett, Managing Director. “Our success has proved beyond doubt that we can compete favourably with European manufacturers in terms of technology, pricing and service.”
In the past 12 months, Precision Micro’s export sales have risen dramatically and now represent almost 50% of the Company’s turnover.
”Another key factor that has brought us success is our willingness to push the boundaries of the technologies we employ” continued Marrett. “We have built a reputation for succeeding where others have tried and failed, especially in ultra-high precision projects.”
“In addition, our engineers have successfully developed LEEP and LEEF, two unique process routes that increase manufacturing accuracy while also improving the lead times we are able to achieve.”
With unparalleled manufacturing capabilities, a commitment to continuous process improvement and a corporate culture that continually redefines the possible, customers can depend on Precision Micro for their future photochemical etching needs.
