Commercial growth drives graduate recruitment at Midlands-based Precision Micro
Birmingham-based chemical etching specialist Precision Micro has appointed seven graduates, as strong commercial growth fuels continued investment in the skills and manufacturing capabilities needed to support its expansion.
The graduates will gain experience across Precision Micro’s technology, processes and customer applications, while developing specialist skills in engineering, manufacturing, quality and technical problem-solving.
The appointments follow a period of significant commercial success for the manufacturer. Semiconductor-related revenue has risen by 43 per cent over the past year, while Precision Micro has also secured a seven-figure order to supply etched plates for advanced data centre cooling systems.
“Bringing seven graduates into the business is part of our longer-term approach to developing the skills and expertise we need for the future,” said Lee Weston, communications manager at Precision Micro. “As the business continues to grow, it is important that we invest in the people and skills we need to support that growth.
“For a specialist manufacturer like Precision Micro, developing our own talent is particularly important. Many of the skills and processes involved in photochemical etching are highly specialised, so bringing graduates into the business gives us the opportunity to develop that expertise while also introducing new knowledge and perspectives.
“By learning from experienced colleagues and gaining hands-on experience across the business, the graduates can develop the specialist skills they need to build long-term careers with Precision Micro.”
As they develop their careers, the graduates will have opportunities to take on greater technical, project and management responsibility within the business.
